　　 Teaching objectives:
　　On finishing the lesson, the students will be able to
　　1) learn new words through reading
　　2) develop the Ss¡¯ reading skills (skimming, scanning and understanding the title)
　　3) learn from the composers¡¯ spirits (eg: No pain, no gain./Never give up)
　　 Important points in teaching:
　　1) Understand the passage structure through choosing the best title.
　　2) Know something about three world-famous composers and get positive power from them.
　　 Difficult point in teaching:
　　Use what they have learnt to say something about the three great composers.
　　 Teaching methods:
　　Communicative Language Teaching and Task-based Teaching.

　　Multimedia, a blackboard.
　　 Teaching Procedure:
　　Step 1 Leading-in (2min)
　　1) Greet the Ss and welcome the teachers.
　　2) Listen to a piece of music composed by Beethoven and ask the Ss questions.
　　3) Show some names of musicians and pictures of three great composers
　　¡ï Purposes of design: To activate the bacnd knowledge of composers that the Ss have known.
